Hi Guys:
I was offered a discount on my next purchase from LLL Reptile. I told them I would let you know. I am glad that they have changed their written description of the animals for sale, so that no mistake will be made in the future. I will not be accepting their discount on a matter of principle, but progress has been made.
At the time of my purchase the animal was labeled P. adspersus sp., no edulis which I found misleading.
Overall this is a positive folks. They are now labeling their animals more accurately, and in the future no problems should arise.
I am satisified with the outcome, and will post pictures of "Kong" my Lowveld in the near future.
Sincerely,
Chris
Well I am glad everything worked out for you alright. And I hope in the future people will be more aware of the type of frog they are buying from online stores. But lucky for you, you bought from a website that was nice enough to work with you. Hope to see pics of Kong in the future!
Hi Guys:
Just a note to everybody, one which I just sent to LLL Reptile'
A definitive guide to south African frogs: First Field Guide to Frogs of Southern Africa by Vincent Carruthers lists two frogs to meet the AFB description:
Giant Bullfrog (P. adspersus) and African (P. edulus), there is no mention of P. adspersus adspersus or P. adspersus edulus, it is either adspersus or edulus.
I believed Buck Rodgers referenced this guide in the past as well.
Thanks
That's great that it worked out in the end. Thanks for the reference material as well.
