    Default Substrate Help

So I set up a 10 gallon Fire Belly Toad tank, but I think I might have messed up on the substrate.

The only thing I could find was Peat Moss...I read from multiple sources that it would be just fine with fire bellies...but just recently Iv ALSO read that it could cause impaction..
Not to mention it holds almost NO water at all....So watering my plants is getting complicated.

Did I mess up on substrate?
If I did, am I able to just cover the top layer with a new substrate to avoid impaction?
Or will I have to start over? The fire bellies JUST went in today...I don't wanna over stress them or something.

If you are wanting to grow live plants you should use something similar to ABG mix. I am assuming since you have FBT that your tank has a water section? or at least a large water bowl. Can you share a pic of your tank?

The only live plants I wanted to mess with were Pothos. I couldn't find any fake plants.

I can't send pictures with my phone right now for some reason, but I do have a water area.
It's a water dish with a a whisper filter in it.

Covering the top layer with an inch of new substrate will probably help your mind at ease with impaction issues

Iv laid down a bunch of rocks to help keep the toads off of the substrate. Mainly because they get so dirty...
That will be okay for them right?

Also, one of my frogs seems to be a little on the aggressive side...Is it normal for FBT to strike at each other once in a while?
