Hello everyone,
I got a pacman frog a couple weeks ago.... I fed him a hornworm which I think might of been too big for him. Its been about a week, we haven't fed him since the worm, we looked at him today and it looks like you can see the worm.... Is that just how they look.... Could he be impacted? We just tried and he took a tiny cricket so he is still eating.
I'm new to the whole frog thing... I just want to make sure my Jabba is okay.
First off, you need to answer the questions in the Trouble in the Enclosure sticky: http://www.frogforum.net/pacman-frog...enclosure.html
This will help people figure out exactly what's going on with your frog.
If he's a baby, he definitely should not be going a week between feedings. Little ones need to eat every day to every other day depending on how big they are (every day for very young, probably every other day for juveniles-adults). He may be impacted; do you feel a hard lump on the frog's side?
You can go ahead and give him a honey bath; that's just a few drops of honey mixed with luke-warm treated water, and let him soak in that fifteen minutes or so. This helps with impaction, and it won't hurt him even if he isn't impacted.

Hello and welcome to FF! How long was the worm and what is frog length from snout to vent? Those worms are like candy to Pacmans, myself would only feed as a treat.
Canadian night crawlers (not dyed from bait shop) are the best food you can give your frog. Depending on frog size you might need to cut to mouth size bits (froglets to 2 in.); body length (2-3 in. juveniles); or full size. Cut worm with scissors from pointy end. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
We've had him for a few weeks now. And we were feeding him everyday to every other day but figured since he had the horn worm to leave him.
He's approx 2 inches long. On either side its kinda hard. We did put him in a bowl in some warm water for 15 mins hut didnt seem to do anything... Does honey make a difference? How much would you use?
With the horn worm, it was about the same length as him so 2 inches and width wise was perfect, between his eyes.
Yes, the honey makes a difference. You can put 3-5 drops in and mix them up. It's not an exact science, just don't pour a ton of honey in there.
Also, could you please answer the questions from the Trouble in the Enclosure link? Sometimes not eating well has to do with something other than impaction.

Well we put him in the honey bath, and he just finally pooped a little bit. He was having a hard time... So constipated.
And he seems a lot better, not so hard. Will continue to do the baths
There's no reason to continue doing the baths if you don't suspect the frog is impacted...
