Any if you guys ever make an actual glass aquarium? My toad is outgrowing her 12x12x18, so I'm thinking about making my own tank. I'm thinking about making a metaframe theme tank, cutting out pieces of scrap metal, making them look like the metal sidings of a metaframe, and then fashioning a cube out of acrylic to silde into the metal base. Also, thinking about making sliding doors and a ventilation strip. Going to make the tank a 7 gallon due to 7 being my lucky number, and a reaccuring number in my life.

"Look on the wall behind you. Look at that little girl's face. I know you've seen it. But you know what she's never going to be able to see? She's never going to be able to see the simple wonder of a leaf in her hand. Because there's not going to be any trees. Now you think about that."

Hi Alan, I made most of my old tanks, using glass and silicon sealant, the down side of glass is the weight, but I found the times I used acrylic didn't work, as the acrylic wasn't very strong and the seal used to come apart over time.and the front had an annoying habit of warping over time.
I don't know what metaframe is, but if you do use acrylic, I would glue the sides with acrylic solvent, this should strengthen the cube, Also be careful with the base, it will need a solid surface to stop any movement or sagging on the acrylic base.
hope this input helps.
