African Dwarf Frogs

I currently have a 7 gallon tank with 1 male betta in it. I am hoping to add 1 albino african dwarf frog(if i can find one) and 1 normal african dwarf frog and 3 ghost shrimp. Will this overstock the tank? Are the mortality rates higher on the albino DAF or are they just as hardy as the normal DAF? Also any special requirements that I should know about?

Welcome to the forum IMO the tank is too small. I would recommend at least a 10 gallon tank minimum for the choice of animals you want. If your betta fish is a male, be sure to keep him separate because they can be aggressive to fish and other critters smaller than them. For mortality rates, im not so sure. Keep the lighting lower for the albino because its most likely that they are more sensitive than the normal ADFs. If you do plan to add more to the tank in the future, add fish or frogs in small amounts at a time, the ammonia levels may spike and cause unexpected fish deaths.

Thanks for the welcome and the quick response. if the albinos are more sensitive ill hold off for a while. those would be the only inhabitants of the tank as to keep the bio load down,.
i thought i should answer this incase it is needed:
1. Tank Size and volume of water in it (full, 1/2 filled, etc.)? 7 gallons 8/10 full just enough to submerge heater
2. Number of inhabitants including all frogs and any fish? At the moment 1 crowntail betta
3. Water source and any conditioner treatments? I use tap and kordon novaqua and amquel when needed
4. Water Temperature and how is it heated (if so)? 78 F using a fluval 25 watt heater
5. Water chemistry levels: pH; Ammonia (NH3); Nitrites (NO2); Nitrates (NO3)? Note that if you do not have test kits, most aquariums/pet shops will do complimentary tests if you take a clean water sample. pH 7.0 0 ammonia o nitrate 0 nitrite
6. Describe any filter system including model and media? using a tetra power filter that came with the tank[/COLOR]
7. Substrate type? black sand
8. Tank set-up (plants (live or artificial), driftwood, hide outs and other decor? - How were things prepared prior to being put into the tank? There is driftwood and 2 rocks(the frog coundnt get under they touch the bottom of the tank) along with a plastic plant.
9. Main frog staple food and any treats? How often you feed? I have frozen bloodworns daphina tubflex
10. CA, vitamins, and any other additives used (how often)? Once a week i add tetra easy balance plus
11. Lighting set-up and hours it's used? Light is on for around 6hrs a day
14. A picture would be helpful including frog and tank (any including cell phone pics are fine). Coming Soon!
19. Any medications in the water (treatment doses and for how long)? None
20. Any salt in water (how much)?None
21. Is the tank kept in a high or low traffic area? The tank is in a bookshelf and is undisturbed most of the day
22. Describe tank maintenance to include water changes, cleaning, media changes, etc.). Water changes are every 2 weeks media is changed monthly

I have owned many Betas and have had good luck with a few of them that were not as aggressive as others and they lived happily in a 46g bow front with many other non aggressive
fish and 7 ADF's
I will agree that 10 gal is better.
A sand bottom is optimal since these little ones don't have great eyesight and food that falls into gravel will foul water and cause water quality issues.

Im no expert on shrimp but I know you should have 1 gallon per ADF so it may be a good idea to get like a ten gallon in the future!
