Hello Everybody,
We are going to build a new vivarium for our frogs.
I'm going to write down our project here, so you all can see the steps that we are going to take.
The tank is not made yet, but allready orderen at panguana.be in Belgium.
Here I start.
The size of the tank will be 96cm wide, 50 cm dept en 80 cm high.
We are going to keep a liitle group of R. Vanzolinii in it and a couple of tinctorius (we dont know witch yet).
1.
Now my firts question is regarding the external filter.
I want to work with an external filter (eheim professional). I just changed home and don't have to much place now. The place is the closet under te tank. It's around 50 high.
In my previous project i had en external sump were the eheim was linked to, but this is not possible now. So how do i attach it the most easiest to the tank, so that i can use it to clean the water easy and restart the eheim as quick as possible.
I was thinking the following. The place were the water is flowing back to the filter. I suggest to place a T piece in pvc between the tube so that i can let the water out by turning a tap. I can also use this t piece for refilling the eheim by using a pump or just refill by refilling the tank itself. The water is going back in the tank on the other side .
2. second question is regarding the water going back in the tank. Wat's the best manner. I've had a marine tank in the past and there i used a pushing back the water in the groud, to clean the ground. (sorry, don't know the english word for it.). Wich way should i do it? Using a pvc pipe with little holes in it at the back of the tank or just let the water flow from were it comes in the tank.
In my marine tank i used a pomp of 12000 L/hour. this is offcource verry different withe eheim.
We are going to use hygroballs in the groud and over that is comming a platic foil to keep the substrate above.
3. We are going to place 4 pl lamps above it of 36 watt. I've 2 pl of 55Watt, but are they necesary?
If it's nessesary we can place a solar raptor of 70W above it.
So this are my first questions, thnx allready fot thanking your time of reading this topic and answering my questions. Sorry for my poor english.
If you've further questions, be free to ask them.
grts
Bart
