Is the wire lid causing these open sores? Please help me.

Hello.



This toad did not originally look like this.The sore in the middle appeared first, a couple days ago, and I just got home and found these two new ones. This clearly looks like abraded skin. The lid on the animal's enclosure is the wire mesh kind, and she can reach it if she jumps, or climes on top of here hide. Or, might this be the result of a bacterial infection, and have nothing to do with abrasion? Please help me find out what I can do to prevent this from getting any worse, I don't want my pet to die, or get debilitated, or sick!

I have wire screen on my red eyed tree frog tank with no issues. That is a classic nose rub. Usually if they're rubbing to escape, there is an issue within the enclosure that causes them to need to get out. whether it's size, temps, humidity, parasites, water quality, housemates, or etc, something likely needs to be fixed.
