Nothing at all has changed in how she's been cared for in the almost 8 days we've had them... except things have been more noisey since Saturday night. My dad comes home on the weekend and he's a yeller, unfortunately :/ Honey had loose stool in the cricket cup last night and also the night before; before that all the poo in the cage (not that there was much) was normal consistency. I'm sure Honey is the loose pooer because she had it on her toes... unless she jumped in the cup after Shirley and SHE left it in there?? Honey just has seemed "off" to me somehow (she did shed though) and Shirley has seemed more normal... she also got through shedding. They both seem to eat fine, but the crickets have been too big really; stupid Petco. I also think they eat better when the crickets are out of the cup maybe. The crickets were dusted last night and there were two per cup, if Honey is the one who is loose she ate two of those. The other two were still in the clean cup so I upended it and Shirley grabbed one and later a couple small non-dusted crickets. Temps have been steady, appx 75-77F, humidity has been stable in the mid 50s%, but again, stupid Petco hydrometer said it was lower IN the tank than the dual temp/humidity room gauge I had sitting OUTSIDE the tank (and those have been proven accurate). Last night the temp went UP in the apartment though (we turn the AC's off at night but leave the fans on) and so was 79 most of the night. Wouldn't think that would do it though? The crickets have been on Cheerios with an occasional sprinkling of wheat germ... could the wheat germ have gone rancid in the warmer room temps? I know what the crickets eat the frogs eat. The poo almost seems wheat germ colored, very soft and liquidy, and with undigested black cricket bits... I took a pic of it in the cup, will have to upload it.![]()

4.4.0 White's tree frogs (Litoria caerulea): Sir Honey Lime, Bok & Choi, Martha, Shirley, Leapin' Loo and Ping & Pong; 0.2.1 Amazon Milk Frogs (Trachycephalus resinifictrix): Otto & Echo and Pip-Squeak aka Tiny
2.0.0 South American Bird Poo Frogs (Hyla marmorata): Ribbit & Rupert
You need to have a fecal test done. Chances are pretty good that it's a parasite load and she will need to be medicated. Is she in a quarantine/hospital tank already? If not, get her in there.
2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
Get the fecal done. If she has anything chances are Shirley will have it tooI wish you the best!

Ugh, loverly. Where was it that it could be sent in by mail again? We don't have any herp vets around. What is used to treat for worms and where do I get it? Also, can WTF's (or any frogs for that matter) get Giardiasis or Coccidiosis...? :/
Wouldn't it be best to just worm frogs that come from places like Petco from the get go to be on the safe side??
Thanks guys!

The petco you bought him from should have a vet they recommend. Depending on where in the NW you are, I can call my previous vet and see if they can recommend one? Or (From the pdx area but know the I84 corridor extremely well!)

Thanks Lisa G! I'm about 40 miles south of Portland and don't really know PDX (that and I have an interstate phobia, sad but true!)That would be great if your vet might know a herp vet near me though, maybe in Salem? That's closer than Portland :P Don't know if I'd trust anything these guys at Petco would tell me, but I'll ask... the frogs are still under warranty (15 day guarantee) but no way in heck am I taking them back
they're eating well, gaining weight, the only prob is the loose poo. They don't even know how to take care of the frogs at Petco, and some idiot put 6 baby WTFs in the wrong display tank and cooked them alive!
That's one reason I brought these two home, I knew I was taking my chances, but still...

The only one they could recommend is in Beaverton. Dr. Mark Burgess, Dr. Melinda Surrency, Southwest Animal Hospital, The Exotic Animal Practice, 6139 SW Murray Blvd., Beaverton, 503-643-2137 (sees almost any exotic pet). I also found this place in Salem.. Dr. Alison Archambault, Oregon Exotics Clinic, 3399 Vitae Springs, Salem, 503-363-8171

Herp Veterinarians - Oregon Try this site.. Good Luck!
Lisa, do you happen to remember how much one of the vets charged to do a fecal or check a frog out to make sure it's ok? I'm only 20 mins from Portland and have been looking for a good yet decently priced herp vet

I never took my frogs to the herp vet in Oregon. I took my dogs to Hart Road animal hospital in Beaverton/Aloha (They were AMAZING BTW) The herp vet here in the DC area is charging almost $40! (Little steep in my book but they are in the "high end" neighborhood so it was expected) In the end, $40 to make sure your pet is healthy is cheap. I saw somewhere that some other place (I do not know where) charged $20. You could plan on somewhere in that range or give them a call.
SW animal hospital is where an old co-worker of mine took her dog. She LOVED them. I have not personally been there but she raved about how wonderful they were.

Got proof this morning that Honey IS the loose poo culprit and not Shirl... poor Shirley looked so embarrassed in this pic, lol. Honey was in a back corner so couldn't get a good pic but will try again later. No word back yet from two other vets I emailed to see if they'd do fecal testing...
