It really depends on the planting of the tank. If you have a lot of plants at the front of the tank, I would go with two of those over the tank, but If you mainly plant to have a planted background with a more open front, that would be more ideal.
To put it more simply:
1 light in back means plants will grow up the background
1 light in the front means plants will tend to spread out to the front, or descend from the background
2 lights means maximum growth upwards and outwards

if they have the same optics in them as their 18" version, you can run a single across the center of the tank and it will be plenty bright. besides, of course a well lit tank is cool, but so is a dark mysterious jungle look![]()

Ordered the lights and picked up $150 worth of various wood today at a reptile show.
What about plants...because the tank is so tall, I want to make sure i have plants that reach up there and not just on the ground. What recommendations can you give for that?
I plan on doing a custom background with expanding foam and bark and dirt.
