Smile What About Red Runner Cockroaches As Horned Frog Food.

I have seen Red Runner Cockroachers for sale at the local Petco. Has anyone used them to feed to their Horned Frogs and are they a good food for the frogs? I know night crawlers are the best but can't buy them here, folks!

I don't know about the cockroaches, but if you're having difficulty finding a good food source, you may want to order or buy some dubia roaches or crickets when you get a chance and get a colony going. If you gutload crickets or dust with vitamin powder they work fine.

Red runners are a great feeder. A little small for a full grown Pac but not much different than feeding crickets.

I have had FROG since the middle of December and have fed him nothing but crickets. I feed them carrots, apples, carrots, romaine lettuce and Gut Load Cricket & Insect Food. I dust the crickets with Reptocal and Reptivite at different times. He seems to be doing fine. I just wanted to feed him something different. Thank for the replies everyone.

Just a word of warning though, they are FAST, chasing one around your floor isn't fun. They grow and multiply quickly as well. They are my favorite feeder for smaller amphibians and young arachnid's. They tend to move around alot and really draw attention to themselves
