So I have my little starter vivarium and my 1 little frog to start. In a few years I hope to have the money to build bigger and get more frogs.
I would like to get a 24"x18"x36" Exo Terra and build another waterfall with a false bottom and a small pool at one end. It would have 2 vine plants hanging from the upper part of the back wall and five bromilades and 2 ferns an two Wendtiis and 3 huts set up with Petri dishes and ledges and caves and bamboo tubes to run through and a couple of begonias. and I would stock it with four new Azureus and add my little Mila when they were all near the same size.
Another Idea I have been playing with in my head would be a 36"x18"x36" Exo Terra with a divider in the middle and have it set up with a waterfall on each side and a vine plat on each side and all the other fun stuff I would like in my dream build. Then put a differnt species of Dendrobates on each side of the divider. Maybe Leucs in one side and Azureus in the other or maybe bronze and teal Aratus.
Do you have a dream build you are planning in your head. Even if you have to save up for a while like I do I would love to hear what you have in mind.
There are some dreams that you can make come true.

Bill, my dream tank is your original Madagascar tank!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
I am just trying to pass the time until I have enough money to make a bigger Vivarium. I love to dream and sketch out possibilities. I also go and price things like misting systems and find pictures of frogs I like. Guess you could say I have frogs on the brain.
I am always dreaming of the next vivarium. Occasionally, I even sketch them out, but for the most part, the tanks you see me build, are built directly from my deranged brain

Purely dreaming?? This is faaar future, as in when I have a career and have settled down, lol. A 36x18x36 exo terra paludarium for D. auratus el cope. I would have a large pond on the left side of the tank. A dripwall/waterfall would pour water into a natural stream from the top right of the tank, leading to the pond area. I would have a cork background, layered into 2 or 3 levels. I would have a canopy of bright and beautiful bromeliads, pilea, and tillandsias. The middle layer would contain begonias, ferns, and other terrestrial plants I love. The bottom would consist mostly of moss, pilea, and various leaf litters. I'm not sure about what fish would go in the pond, but then again, this is only a dream. I would have a satellite LED system, a MistKing, and two DC fans for circulation. Top of the line water filter and pump. And of course it would be a centerpiece in my house.
I literally just came up with this, but with the ease with which I created it, I can tell it has grown in the back of my mind.

LoL I think calling my next tank a "Dream tank" is reaching, but it is one I have been planning for a few months now and cant wait to build. Originally I was going to do a 24x18x24 tank, but have since almost certainly decided to scale it back to an 18x18x24 tank.

I had a 150 gallon once. 70 gallons of water , Ehime canister filter water fall , undergravel filter , java moss canopy .
Lol and a lovely tomato frog that ate everything i put in there , all was harmonious until i got that guy .
i was young learned a valuable lesson ( at the cost of 300 dollars worth of critters went into that fat frogs stomach ).
But that was my dream vivarium , i only wish i had saved the pictures to show you, it was quite beautiful.
I don't mean to brag but, I would like to build a walk in tank (15 x 15 feet or so) with a full on stream, different species of darts maybe even mantellas, and several other ideas that are to long to write

Mine? 24/36 x18 x36 Exo except the plastic pieces would be stronger. There would be a thermostat, mist king, a fan, and the lights would be on a timer. No idea about water and water features, but I'd do the greatstuff background thing with a few plants growing on the wall. The look would be mostly naturalistic although I don't think I could resist a few whimsical touches like colorful mushroom sculptures for climbing. Or I'd model the background after one of the root-covered temples of Ankor Wat. I have an Indonesian White's after all.
Nice, Strider18. I'd like to build a small heated greenhouse myself though that's definitely in dreaming territory. I'd like the setup to be like a miniature version of the butterfly garden in the New Orleans Insectarium: two sealed doors leading in to prevent drafts and to keep animals from escaping.
yes dream big, for though we may never be able to build such wonderful vivariums We must always have our dreams and passions.
This....

(Lack of resources have postponed it but it will happen. In the meantime I'm remodeling and doing some smaller vivs while I explore my special fx ideas.)
Oh and I'd also like to put a pond liner and drain in a room and make a rainforest in my house. That is postponed indefinitely though![]()
I'd also like something walk in, so I can sit in summer and enjoy some frog watching when it's winter outside.
One of the houses we lived in when I was growing up was an otherwise modest bungalow with an abnormal addition- an 800 square foot solarium. It had a hot tub (easy conversion to a frog pond) and enough room that you could grow tropical plants closer to their native sizes (pothos leaves the size of my arm? yes please!). A 'tank' this size and I'd be comfy joining the species mixing crowd, north american treefrogs for me. Alas, at the time I was not so frog obsessed nor in charge to make proper use of the space.![]()
I think it would be cool to have a solarium/frog room with double doors and lots of plants and different types of frogs well heated in winter cooled to just the right temp in summer. I would most likely have tree frogs and types of dart that would not interbreed. Lots of the right foods and vitamins and a nice place for me to sit and watch and take pictures. Tadpoles would be raised in the solarium as if they were in the wild. There would be waterfalls and nice places to perch and lots of places to hide. A mini rainforest of life to enjoy. I will probably have to stick with separate Vivariums in a basement room unless I win the lottery.
okay if its my DREAM vivarium it doesn't have to be realistickay so I would want a 200 gallon aquarium with a large waterfall in the middle separating the water and land!
WATER SIDE
there would be a corner with unlimited brine shrimp yum!
steping stones to get out of the water and Rainbow gravel with lots of beautiful PUNCHI plastic and silk plants!
the gravel would be mixed with wardly beta food to look like dirt (more naturel) and yummy!
there would be a big pot coming out half In the water half out for a nice hiding spot! the pot would have lots of tall plants surrounding it making It very beautiful!
There would be some basking docks for him to get out on just in case he got tired each basking dock would be large!
LAND SIDE
The land side would have lots of sticks all around for him to climb on and there would be crickets running around!
there would be lots of leaves for him to explore and venture!
The substrate would be dirt and pebbles!!
THATS MY DREAM VIVERIUM
PS THAT WOULD BE FOR THE LEPORD FROG IM GETTING SOON![]()
