Also, I'm wondering how to control the heat from the actual bulb. I tried to look into some thermostats, but I'm scared that the pyxie could eat it or something.
And this is probably me being paranoid, but could it drown in a deep water bowl?

No, they are pretty good swimmers, but they like floating there or if the water is really deep you should put a rock or something, they love to sit submerged completely with just eyes sticking out.
Hydrotherm is a best one if you are looking for controller. That thing will keep both humidity and temps spot on.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
