Default Frenchy the Red-Eyed Tree Frog Update.

So Frenchy is eating regularly now! He ate two nights in a row now. He has really settled in! I'm so glad. Last night I watched him for like an hour. He didn't mind that I was watching! I didn't even have to hide behind the curtain. I guess he's used to me now. I was watching him and was just so amazed by the way he moves and what he does. He's so cool. Finally, I can enjoy him! Instead of being worried that he's not going to eat or that he's stressed out. He finally seems happy and healthy and like a regular Red-Eye.

I didn't take photos or videos of him during his hunting, I wish I had an infra red camera. I bet those are costly. But if I were to take videos/photos, I'd either have to turn the light on or use the flash, which is not what I want to do when he's in the middle of feeling comfortable in the dark.

The things they do are hilarious! Particularly with their legs. Like when he's cleaning substrate off his legs, once he's on a stick. Their feet are like hands, much like a monkey! Makes sense, both are tree dwellers. But he uses one foot, grips his leg with it, slides it down to gather the substrate, then throws the substrate away with his foot! It's wicked funny to watch. I love it.

They're so smart, too. There was a cricket he was keeping a good eye on. He watched it for like 10 minutes. It then hid behind a leaf, and so he could see it still, Frenchy climbed the stick side ways, ever so slowly, so he could see over the other side of the leaf. At about 15 minutes he finally struck! It was pretty far away so I understood his hesitation. But he got it! Incredible. He ate 3 calcium/D3 dusted crickets. Very dusted, as I'd just dusted them and put them in that night before hitting the lights.

He sheds like every night, with globs coming off. Is that normal? I'm not really concerned but just curious.

Here's some photos I took before I shut the lights:

I switched from having paper towel in this water bowl to putting sphagnum moss in there. He loves it!!

Its hard to get good shots through the glass, especially from this cage, its old, and had a bearded dragon in it (RIP Buddy!!) so the sand left some lines in it.
