Most spring water is safe. You can test it for heavy metals. You can buy kits or have a local fish store test it for you. I know Petsmart does water tests for free.

The green is the one I got from petsmart but I'm sure you would figure that out immediately. They just got fed earthworms in these pictures lol.
Also, I just thought id explain these are my quarantine bins for them. They will be transferred to a split 10 gallon after 90 days.
They are both C. cranwelli. One of the main indicators of C. ornata are false eyespots on the back of each eye. This is a characteristic of C. ornata only. The other species do not have them.
