So in a previous thread I have come to the conclusion that Keropi has gotten redness on her legs from scraping her legs along the glass bottom of a aquarium she is kept in, are there ways where I can minimize the chances of this occurring? In the process of building a new habitat for her and one for my fantasy pacman, I wanted to see if there any ideas that I could incorporate into the build process.
In my vivarium I will have a drain layer and I was wondering if I should grow a flat level of moss across the filter layer that will be above my drain layer (which will then be covered by substrate).
I remember I had purchased a green rough mat somewhere that was supposed to go beneath the substrate and it would serve as a "drainage" layer, but I would imagine it would be as equally bad for my pacmans to rub their feet along it as much as glass by itself.
Any ideas and advice are widely welcome!
Hmm seems I can't edit my first post.

Anywho! Whoop, got to learn about moss in my thread in the vivarium section, moss need's light like any other plant x) Haha, learn something new everyday. Though preventing my pacman from squeaking their feet or rubbing their feet raw against the "bottom" of the habitat still poses as a unsolved problem for me that I will need to answer.
Can't really stop them from wanting to burrow further which is why the frog squeaks on the bottom. Just separate your substrate from the hydroballs or whatever your drainage layer is going to be with a screen. You don't want the drainage layer mixing with the substrate.
