Well Im in northern Virginia. found a puddle about a month ago that had these small circular egg sack floating on top. I count a little over 20 tadpoles. maybe 25. I had them for three days before they started hatching into Tadpoles, and now as you can see, the bigger ones are starting to grow some legs. Im thinking they are probably just leopard frogs or something. the surrounding area has swampland and also a running stream. Ive seen alot of leopard frogs out there (i think) any ideas?
Sorry, I can't help you identify it, but it sure is a cutie! I wish my tad would sprout some legs...maybe I should let him look at the picture to get some ideas!!
no one else?
Tadpoles can be very difficult to identify.
They look like chorus frog tadpoles to me but as was said tadpoles are not always easy to identify.
One of nature's awesome transformations.
Could be Hyla - looks like it to me. Time will tell .
