Frenchy the Red Eyed Tree Frog - Update

Frenchy, the Red-Eyed Tree Frog, still hasnt eaten. This is day 5 I believe. But he is much more comfortable it seems. He no longer hides in the furthest corner of the cage, he will sleep on the leaves in the middle now. And he has been exploring a lot more and sleeping less. Did more shedding last night! Why does he keep shedding? He's been doing it like every other night.

So he's more comfortable but not yet eating. Patiently waiting, and hoping, he will eat soon.

Does he look emaciated? He doesnt look it to me but I want to be sure and get an opinion or more from experienced Red-Eye owners.





Isnt he beautiful, by the way? Lol. He turned such a dark green after I shut the light! AWESOME!!







He was enjoying his water bowl! I put plain, non printed paper towel in it with water so he can go on top of it. He has another water bowl thats just water, no paper towel (only chin deep, dont worry). The heating pad is right under this water bowl here with the paper towel. So the water warms up a bit. Not significantly but just warm. Frenchy seems to like it!



I did a measurement as he was against the glass. He's actually more like 2 1/2"! I was thinking he looked to be 3", but I was going by how he looked, not actual measurements, I guess it's hard for the eye to see the difference between 2 1/2 and 3". Well anyways, that means he's either male or a younger female, but honestly, I think he's male, he's got that long and slender shape with a big head.

He's so Smeagol-y, lol.



I named him Frenchy cause he reminds me of a French guy. Being thin and the red and blue and white, French guys always wear those colors, lol, cause of their flag. And Frenchy sounds better than "Americany" LOL.









No more photos for a while! Not sure a frog would enjoy that.
