I usually just run things under the hottest water my tap can run (which is reaaalllly f-ing hot) and my water is dechlorinated already, I have well water.
I was told by my locally owned pet shop that they used a diluted vinegar solution to clean their tanks and decor, and also their cricket terrarium and it supposedly kills bacteria. They said it is safer for the animals because there are no trace chemicals left (just the smell, but it fades if you let it sit before you put the frog back in).

Has anyone tried this? I just got a used aquarium off of craigslist that I am about to set up for my frog, and they gave me a bunch of plants and decor. I would like to know if this is a legit way to clean things before placing them in my frog tank without chemicals and risking third degree burns on my hands.
