Alright, Spider plant, Bamboo, Money Tree and some plant that grows on a THIN trunk and if not cut and replanted (just stick it back in the dirt) it dies. I have no idea what it is. It is a warm weather humid plant. I have had it since 2006. Have split it 3 times. It won't stop having babies. Any one know if I could plant any of these in the viv and it be safe for Hopper and his buddies we have yet to get?

the spider plant will be fine. so will the schefflera. the palm i wouldn't use, and your last one is a dracaena species you could use, but it will outgrow most vivs rather quickly.

That money tree was 4 years old when I got it. I have TRIED killing it and it won't die! LOL I got in 2002... I am going to see about trying to get a clipping to grow. I don't want to plant the whole thing. lol

The dracaena has MANY babies.. It won't stop popping out kids! I will move a kid or two over to the tank. Same with the spider plant. I still need other items though.. But this is good to know! Thank you.

Just ordered the water pump!! Fluval 106! I have come to the decision that I am going to have to cut into the screen on top It will be better in the end and the tank is so high you can't see the top anyways Tomorrow is plant care day. i will be taking some cutting/trimmings from my existing plants and working on getting them ready to plant. I have to add to the corner of the tank for the waterfall for the pipes. Will probably end up using bamboo to hide it all. (I really like the look of bamboo just not how it grows all over the place in my backyard!)

I also am going to steal the idea I saw on another thread today about Beamsworks freshwater Bright LED aquarium lights and order 2 of those for this tank. Probably will be next month's purchase.

Going to try my hand at the Great Stuff Foam this weekend too On a piece of cardboard so I don't ruin anything. Will have to get dirt and figure out somehow to set up the tank on its side in the sunroom before I can do it for real

One thing at a time. Once the pump is here I feel that I can really get started!

Lisa, it is very very hard to mess up great stuff and if you do, it is very easy to carve/remove/whatever

I am sure it is. Supper Hubby was able to seal up the window in the laundry room to stop mice from getting in. (Much to the dismay of the cats) I, however, have a trigger happy finger and tend to "overdo" stuff that involve gun like objects. LOL Want to make sure I am able to control the spray and not shoot it all over the place. I am not allowed to hold a caulking gun! There was caulk all the up on the ceiling on my first attempt at redoing the bathroom at my parents house!

We bought toy mice for them to play with. My kitten plays fetch with one particular mouse every night! It's a routine. LOL I am sure I can do it but I still want to practice. I have an extra can here at the house so I get to try it without spending any money. Supper Hubby LOVES that idea

My cats have started waiting by the door where Hopper is to catch any crickets that might have gotten away from me. They play with it until Daddy finds it or they eat it. Depending on who catches it. LOL

So far, I got the water out of the tank. the tank wiped down with water. Got an "official" cricket keeper. The crickets seem to like it. They are in there chirping away.. The bamboo has been soaked in boiling water.. Thank God for drains in bathtubs. LOL

I need help. I saw this plant while walking one of the strip malls near me. It's BEAUTIFUL!! Bright green with purple veins and the purple spreads to part of the leaves. it's fuzzy to touch. Does anyone know what it is and is it safe for the White's House?

looks like a kong coleus plant, not sure if it would be good for a whites, as for the pots they break down over time, in my build im using plastic pots that have perforations, I think I saw them on joshes frogs, the pots you have are made to decompose over time you might want to go in another direction with the pots, good luck cant wait to see the finished product

Im not so sure about the plant you want to use but you can use the pots if you want but
they usually get soggy when over watered. I would use the plastic pots so the water wouldn't
    seep into the great stuff.

    Thanks guys.

I know the pots will break down that's why I was asking if they would work. Thinking the Great stuff dries firm and then I would just have a void so to speak where the pot was. I will pick up the net pots.

The plant, according to the google image search based off of "coleus plant" is called "Coleus silk stocking." LLLreptile states that Coleus plants are safe for amphibians but I also read somewhere they are a type of nettle. Sadly, Super hubby is highly allergic to nettle so I won't be getting one. Just don't want to risk Super Hubby.

Off the subject. Finally caught Hopper in his water dish
