Unfortunately, Fennel the FBT did not make it. Try as I might, Fennel refused to eat anything, and would not accept food by tongs. Crickets and mealworms held no interest and this morning, Fennel was gone. Basil, however, is doing great and eating more than his share. He is still too small to place in the main tank, but I have a feeling by the end of the month, he will be more than able to hold his own.
I'm so sorry about Fennel.I'm glad Basil is doing better, and can't wait to hear when he's finally able to get moved. Was there a third as well?
Thank you. Yes, Caraway is doing very well. My one male, Barkley, is quite smitten with her, though I'm not sure the feeling is mutual! They would make cute little tadpoles.
Sorry he didn't make it.
Sorry for your loss.
I discovered one of my clowns dead this morning. He was thinning out. I hadn't seen him eat in a while, he had been ignoring the fruit flies and bean weevils. I thought he would be a goner. Well, I ran out of fruit flies, so I got 1/8" crickets and I saw him take a few swings, then finally nailed one. So I had hope he would turn around. Oh well, what are you going to do? I had him for over three years. The other clown is fine and will be getting a new tank this afternoon.
Again sorry for your loss.
Sorry about Fennel, Jo-Anna. Sorry about your Clown, Kurt.

Thanks everyone. I was really hoping I could pull Fennel through, but alas, it was not meant to be. Kurt, sorry to hear about your Clown. Always a glum day when one of our frogs passes....
Yes, it is, and thanks.
Sorry about both your losses.
Im so sorry Jace. You did your best for Fennel.
Sorry about your Tree frog Kurt. Its hard when you see a frog deteriorating.
Im so sorry guys.![]()
Thanks Ebony.
Oh no!!! I'm sorry Jo Anna and Kurt that you both losed frogs. I know they become a part of the family, even if you've had them for a short time.
I hope all is well with your other frogs.
And Jo Anna I hope Caraway will warm up to her new wannabe boyfriend Barkley![]()
Thanks.
Thanks Lesley. As for Barkley and Caraway...gotta give the little dude points for trying, but she is actually bigger than him and she literally flips him off of her. When they are in the water together, he can float on top of her and not even get wet!! I might have to try and take a picture....
I am so sorry. We lost one of older toads yesterday. I am glad your other one is doing well.
Thank you. I took a risk with Fennel and it didn't pan out well. However, Caraway, Basil and our newest toad, Dill, are all doing very excellent. I can't wait for Basil to be big enough to place in with his 8 brothers and sisters.
Im glad they are doing well.![]()
