    Wink Cleaning Synthetic Plants

    Hi All!

(Haven't bought a plant yet, still in the planning stage) Here are my questions:

What is the most effective way to clean a plastic or fabric plant? I know that chemical residues are readily absorbed by frogs.

Are synthetic plants even considered safe for a frog environment? (Frog won't be scratched / poisoned by dyes or anything, right? I'm thinking Pacmans)

Can you recommend a synthetic plant?

    Thanks!

I use silk type plants made for aquariums and also the ones that come in a wrapped long vine from Flukers. To clean prepare a 10% plain bleach solution and soak for 10 minutes; then soak in 4X dechlorinator solution, rinse and air dry .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

If the plant is not too large, I believe that you can also boil it for 5-10 minutes, right?

You don't want to boil a silk plant. Boiling will soften the glue that holds the silk leaf on the plastic coated wire stem.
