Hello FF I recently came back from the local expo in my area and came back with two male D.auratus! So far, i love them! they eat like pigs and love their coco huts and broms
But i do have one issue, because the humidity is at near 100% the water bowl keeps evaporating. Im pretty sure because the bowl is so small it keeps drying out, I'll be on the
hunt for a new water dish. At the expo i was looking for D.azureus but thought that the auratus would be a better fit for the 20 gallon.

Congratulations! New frogs!
Looks like the dart frog disease is spreading through the forum faster than ever LOL!
As far as i know, darts dont need a water dish?
Just remember that D. auratus are very shy and may be hiding all day
They are very pretty!

Were those the ones that were labelled as Nicaraguan Auratus?
I saw those and couldn't believe how bright the green on them was.
Good price too.
2 of my 3 dart vivs don't have water dishes in them.
1 tank has a mistking system and the other I hand mist.

Beautiful Frogs!
I am not sure how a water bowl in a tank with near 100% humidity evaporates quickly. My guess is the light over your tank is drying the air out more than your realize.... But yes if the proper humidity is maintained in a Dart tank you do not need a water bowl. They will absorb the water they need through the air or the environment.

beautiful! congrats. i was keeping a little water in my monkey pod, and it also evaporates quickly. no need for a water bowl. just make sure to mist a few times daily.
