Unhappy Help!!! Something just happened to my frog, and I'm not sure if something is wrong or if he is dying :(

I have no idea what just went on with my frog just a few minutes ago. He was perfectly fine yesterday, he ate worms and was burrowed in his spot.
Today though, he seemed off. So I kept an eye on him through the day. He was sitting up, rather than burrowed down, and he kind of looked like he was in poop mode.

So, this just happened. I moved him over to check for poop, and I put him in his water dish. He seemed ok at first, but then he started sticking his tongue out and then vomited up some clear mucousy stuff, and it smelled... I took him out of the water dish immediately. The part that terrified me, after this happened a big bubble came out of his mouth, like his throat had come inside out of his mouth and bubbled out or something and it stayed like that. I wish I had gotten a picture to post on here but I was on the phone panicking and crying to my mom because I was sure he was going to die right then. It stayed like that a couple of minutes and then went back to normal.

Now he is just sitting there completely still (he is still alive though I keep checking on him) he isn't burrowing and he has not moved from the spot he is in. I am really worried. Is there something I can do for him? Does anyone know what might be wrong with him?

I may be answering my own question here, but could my frog have been regurgitating something he ate? Like his food from yesterday? I was just doing some reading and read that frogs can push their stomachs out through their mouths.

Can someone verify this? I am still very concerned for my Blob.

Just an update. My pacman seems back to normal now. He has moved now and is burrowed back into the substrate and is looking better. I am going to keep a close eye on him tonight and tomorrow. So maybe he was just regurgitating something.

If anyone still has some insight on this I would appreciate it, I have never dealt with this before and I am just guessing that this is what happened from reading stuff online- and that can't always be reliable.

Your frog needs a vet. He either has intestinal parasites or a bacterial infection. They don't do this unless something is wrong. Usually its the two issues I mentioned.

How do you find a vet for frogs?

I just lucked out, there is a local vet that treats exotic animals including reptiles... so maybe amphibians too? I am looking to get other phone numbers to call tomorrow morning. I know there is a herp veterinarian somewhere about an hour or so from here I'm just not exactly sure where, so I am searching.

listen where do you get your worms? some worms come packed in something other than soil, an additive that will kill your frog .
i ordered some form uncle jims worm farm once and my best male afc ate a couple and promptly died .My best bet on Crawlers are to get them during or after a rain storm and leaving them in some very good soil ( i have my own worm farm container ) for a month to get all the nasty s out .If you think that the worms might have something in them you should "milk" the filling out of them ( thats squeezing the **** out fo them literally lol). My pacmans wont eat them anyways but my afcs love them .

I get night crawlers from wal mart, I was told on here it was safe to get them from there on this forum. They don't have any dyes and are in peat moss. I rinse them off in dechlorinated water before feeding.
Do you think that isn't safe?

I was feeding him red wigglers I got from a pet store prior to this.

If i buy any i buy them fro my local pet store . Sailfin pet shop. Its a small privately owned store and the worms come packed in topsoil.I wont buy worms at walmart , they buy the cheapest things to save money and pas the savings on to you which could result in tainted worms .Peat moss, used by gardeners, is commonly treated with pesticides and other chemicals during processing. Generally cleaned of all chemical residue, commercial peat moss may contain traces of harmful elements. In general, however, peat moss is listed as nontoxic.Although peat moss is nontoxic, it can cause gastrointestinal irritation. The symptoms of peat moss ingestion are nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. Contact your veterinarian for care advice.

Read more : Is Peat Moss Toxic to Dogs? | eHow so even washing off peatmoss can still leave traces of toxins. Id buy your worms from a bonafied pet store or bait shop. And id only buy them packed in dirt .

I do not know much about pacman frogs to know what is going on, it may help to copy/paste and fill out this questionnaire so that the people who do have experience with pacmans have more information to help you --

    4. Temperature
    5. Water - type - for both misting and soaking dish
    6. Materials used for substrate
    7. Enclosure set up i.e. plants (live or artificial), wood, bark and other materials.

    12. When is the last time he/she ate
    13. Have you found poop lately
    14. A pic would be helpful including frog and enclosure (any including cell phone pic is fine)

    16. How old is the frog
    17. How long have you owned him/her

The red wrigglers taste horrible to the frogs. Dont be surprised if your frog refuses them or all worms

i dont think you read his post his frog likes them as do my afcs but my pacmans hate worms all together , even if forced to feed on them they just spit them out , slimy as they are i don't blame them lol .If the frog was raised on them he will like them .My american toads also loved worms , they preferred red wigglers to nightcrawlers .

Yes Blob does like red wigglers, he had been eating them for quite a while before I switched him recently to night crawlers. I have heard some frogs don't like them though. I am just wondering how everyone knows they have a bad taste, have you guys actually eaten them yourselves lol?

Just a side note Randy, I am a girl.

No offense taken, I am fairly new here so no one really knows who I am quite yet.

I am going to try and get some pictures of Blob this week. I just had to get him a new tank this weekend (well I was lucky to find a used one in very good condition off of craiglist), his tank cracked on one side this past week when cleaning it. He should be feeling better so when I switch out his tank tomorrow maybe he will give me some good poses
