Hey Guys I finally found a pixie to buy, i've been looking for a month or two and seems like lllreptile and underground and all the reputable guys are out right now and i was sketched out by all the other sites. But i finally pick up a juvenile. I'm hoping it's a male, i know everyone says that. here are some pics or Kikker can you tell me what you think so far? i think it's head is pretty broad but it's still a juvenile i know. I bought it from reptile rapture and the guy said once when they picked it up they thought it croaked so fingers cross i will hear that soon. take a look.
I'm also thinking about getting a couple babies in the future and maybe even a couple dwarf pixies, these frogs are so sick.
Congrats on your new frog!
2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
still a bit early to tell in my opinion but if i had to guess i would lean more towards male by just a bit bc of the head size...usually younger males have this huge spine bone sticking out and a tail bone sticking out....thats from what ive seen in the ones ive had...but nice frog either way....congrats
Wow! That is one very good looking boy! And absolutely stunning tank! Congrats!
Id just suggest covering 3 sides of it, and add smth hide looking in the left front corner, otherwise wow!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Thanks guys I have been Googling a ton about these guys and watching tons of videos and I stole my set up idea from Ddub on youtube. I'm just waiting on my next paycheck to finish up all the heating and lights. But I already like he/she more than my male pacman and my female clawed frog
And i kinda think he eats twice as much as your other 2 combined lol

Haha that's why i wanted him! feeding is the most fun in my opinion, although my clawed frog is thee biggest i've ever seen she is like 6.3 inches from nose to vent and she would eat nonstop if i let her. But once this brute has grown up a little more i will give him a mouse once a month, maybe more! I'm pumped.
Hello and welcome to FF! Would like to see a pic of head from the side to confirm; but appears a male. How long is frog from snout to vent? Asking because it looks small to be croaking like seller stated. On the mice, take it easy with them. Not more than one a month and not too big because if so; could start rotting inside before frog digests it and that would be fatal
.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I know i know hahah i will just get a couple more pixies and hopefully a female ornate pacman (different enclosures of course) they i can spread out the feedings lol. Update on the enclosure: I have cellophane on the top to keep the humidity in, i bought a light with a moderate heat bulb (i will have to check the package because i forgot) and i just have a 10-20 heat pad on the opposite side of the water feature till i can buy a larger heat pad. I put a half log hide in there but so far he doesn't like it. He eats like a champ though, 2 worms yesterday and 6 gut fed crickets, 2 worms today and 12 dusted crickets. Here are some side pics. I still need to get a cool background hopefully i can find one that's marshy or swampy like his natural habitat in south africa. I think i'm also going to get another lamp and put just a regular uv bulb or something. This frog is just as cool as i had hoped i'm so pleased.
Hey psett197 Could you tell me where to Buy these Little Guys because i was hoping i could purchase one!
what kind of filter do you use for that? and how is the silicone holding up? setup looks great btw
