Hi all!
It's been a while since I've posted on here--due to my crazy schedule this semester in college, but now I'm having some concern over one of my FBT's.
He's been very lethargic, and though we are having a big heat wave here in a Southern California, he's ALOT more lethargic than my other guys. I've tried to feed him, and it's almost like he doesn't notice the wax worms in front of him. And if he does seem to notice, he'll leap aimlessly. Another big red flag is his posture. He's been laying his head down very flat--which, from what I understand, is an indicator of poor health. He'll attempt to perk his head upright, but he immediately drops it down. When he drops his head back down it's almost robotic. I've been sitting here trying to think of a way to describe it, but it's difficult. All I can say is that it's not a fluid motion. It starts from an upright position, lowers a little, pauses, lowers a little, pauses...and does this all the way down until his head is flat on the ground. It happens rather quickly, and it's almost a jittery motion.
I should add that I recently lost one of my girls. In retrospect, she seemed lethargic from the get-go. But I had always thought that she was just mellow.
My current boy, though, is usually very aggressive and active--so this behavior is entirely abnormal for him.
I'm thinking that I should seclude him, but I'm concerned about the stress it may cause. As soon as I secluded my girl, she died 2 days later.
I'd really appreciate any thoughts or ideas anyone has.
Thanks guys!
