They are beautiful creatures, what a shame they don't last so long. Do you think it's because the ability to change colour they live for a shorter period? It must use up tons of energy.

I don't believe changing colors has an effect on their life span. It's something that comes natural to them.

Thank you, Jeff. Super excited to watch him grow and get his colors!

Though I'm still a big fan of nosy be, faly or the other locales that have a lot of blue on them.

Very cute, my friend Truffs1178 has a Yemen/Veiled chameleon called rocky it was his first exotic and he is about three now. He has a bad attitude and although chameleons have fun behaviours and are interesting to feed/watch they are not the best at handling, however I think I read somewhere that nosy b's are slightly more tolerable to the occasional handle maybe when your cleaning out. be sure to get vitamins and calcium right though {not that im doubting you I've just seen some horrible cases of mbd and deficiency's} oh and good luck.
P.S I love the fact that you can sex them right out the egg it's a very handy feature they come with for breeders.

Thank you Monza :-). I've never noticed a difference in behavior between localities before, as far as behavior goes. And yeah MBD sucks. My male nosy be has a minor case.
