Can I use garden slate in my frog tank?

So my dad's had a massive order of blue slate in for the garden and received a bit more than he ordered... So I'm thinking this can be used to build a divider to seperate my land and water area (for drainage), would I have to treat it with anything? And what adhesives should I use, as the silicone I have claims it isn't suitable for use on natural stone...

The stone is safe to use. The problem being is that unless you have a diamond bit saw blade to cut it to fit the tank properly, sealing will be an issue. Expanding foam doesn't work for this application.

Well it wasn't really going to be a divider for the water and substrate as I already have a false bottom for that, it was mainly to form an angle so the frogs could easily climb out if they went in, and also to provide a bit of height to the substrate on the top, I can't explain it but I know what I mean :P

Ok. I got it. Slate is perfectly fine, it's an inert stone and won't affect water chemistry or anything. I just misread the divider portion you wrote.
