You can use a clean credit card to open his mouth also. Maybe the card would be easier for you.

I would pick up some reptaboost. It comes with a little syringe. Feed him the appropriate amount of reptaboost. You'll need a kitchen scale to weight him for the amount of powder. The instructions are in the box.
