It's ridiculous really... and I can't even begin to explain how, under their own rules, they even allow Cuban tree frogs and Cane toads here...! *SMH*.

We actually just missed the big reptile show this year (go figure, huh?) but I talked to someone from a very awesome small pet store three towns away from us and they regularly carry captive bred baby WTFs. I really love little TFs, but after finding out White's can live to 20 years (longer than a dog!) I'm becoming more convinced that I'm going to go Aussie!![]()

I think the PTFs live on average 8 years in captivity I read? So not bad, but longer is definitely better, lol. The more I learn about White's TFs the better before I get them, but I have definitely decided I'm going to go minimalist for the housing. I wanted to do a full blown live planted tank, but I think it would be better to leave a bare floor and keep the plants in pots... I've heard so many horror stories about bad substrateThe thing is I also know there are times, like during shedding, that the frogs might want to burrow into some form of substrate. Is that a given though or is that a sign that they don't have enough humidity? I never have seen my PTF "house guests" in a full out in the mouth shed, but I've seen them come out of the soil of the African violets they are housed with and start cleaning bits of loose skin off their legs and arms.
