I'm trying to keep in up near 80-85. According to what I've read that seems to be the ideal. However, I'm having trouble keeping it above 70. It hasn't dropped below that, but it always ends up in the 70s range. I know this sounds like a silly problem, even for a beginner.

I use a 50 watt night glo bulb and it keeps my tanks at 82

I keep mine in the 70's, above 80 is a little too warm. Also using heat lamps can dry the tank and with it the frog. Not good.

So if the heat lamp is too drying, are you recommending the under tank heater? I have a mist system that is keeping the humidity nice and high.

Being summer I am not reccomending anything. Depending what your room temperatures are in winter, I wouldn't bother period.
