My bumble bee toads have arrived. They are in a barebottom critter keeper now for QT and observation.
Well I literally just unpacked them, then realized I have about a million questions regarding QT and their habitat. So here goes lol.
One of them appears to be molting. I don't know if that's what you call it with frogs and toads, but his skin is coming off his body. Is there anything I need to do for him? Is this normal?
I included the media in which the little ones were shipped in their QT, mostly to avoid touching the toads themselves when I added them to the tank. Should I remove it? They are using it as hiding places at the moment and I'm hesitant to remove the only hidey holes in their QT.
How often should I change the water in their water dish? How deep should I keep it? They seem adept enough climbers, but we don't want any drownings. I think it's low enough at the moment that they can escape if they need to.
Should I mist their QT tank just as I will their habitat?
How much and how often should I feed them? I purchased drosophila melanogaster ff for them. I feed these to my smallest (~1 inch) bettas with the tiny mouths, so I imagine they will be fine for the juvie toads.
Okay, I think that's all. For the moment. LOL.
Edit: Forgot to include a photo of the molting toadlet.
