Default activated Carbon the same as charcoal?

i am wondering if springtails use activated carbon ( for fish filtration) the same way they use charcoal. not sure where you find charcoal without buying a big bag of brickettes.

The words are used interchangeably. Carbon is an organic compound found everywhere including charcoal. You can use the aquarium forms; but please do not use man made cooking bricketts for springtails. Can also use agricultural lump charcoal (available on greenhouses or the one in bigger lumps on Home Depot) .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
