i am wondering if springtails use activated carbon ( for fish filtration) the same way they use charcoal. not sure where you find charcoal without buying a big bag of brickettes.

The words are used interchangeably. Carbon is an organic compound found everywhere including charcoal. You can use the aquarium forms; but please do not use man made cooking bricketts for springtails. Can also use agricultural lump charcoal (available on greenhouses or the one in bigger lumps on Home Depot).
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
thanks. i was thinking it had to be the activated carbon.
