Question Red eyed tree frog and Milk frogs

Hi all, I am getting 9 Mossy Frogs and 8 Red eyed tree frogs this week and I have a question about the Red eyed.

I have 3 Milk frogs in a smaller tank right now, and I am wondering I could add them to the tank I am building for my Red eyed?

I will converting a 90 gallons tank into a 4' tall terrarium, would that be enough of a space to have 8 red eyed and 3 Milk frogs in the same terrarium?

    TY

Yeah defintely agreed. I would hate to spend all that money just to have the frogs die. Not to mention that they struggled just to get this far :/

Yeah, mixing almost never ends well, and is only accomplished successfully by experienced caretakers with massive tanks that are 100s or even 1000s of gallons. I would keep the milk frogs in their enclosure right now, convert the 90 gallon and use it for the 8 red eyes, and then later on give the milkys a nicer or larger enclosure if you so desire. I'm also curious about where you will keep 9 mossy frogs . Are you going to do 50% water and 50% land?

Mixing species is largely frowned upon. You will be hard pressed to ever get a yes. I would not Mix Milks and Reds. The Milks for one would get much bigger than your biggest red and they could stress.

I would recommend you house them separately for sure. For 8 Reds you are looking at a tank that is at least 36" tall and preferably 36" wide to give them plenty of room to not be crowded. A good rule of thumb is 10g of space per frog.

This mix is a definitely no for me. To large in quantity for the size of enclosure, to similar in activity and will likely be found in similar spaces and come into contact very often as well as the toxins from the other species harming each other.

    Yes, 2 species = 2 tanks = happy, healthy frogs .

Think of the fun you can have creating 2 nice tanks .

Wow! You'll need a big tank for 9 Mossies (at least 90 US gallons) and another 8 RETF's (at least 80 US gallons).

Are you thinking about breeding in the future?

Yeah, with 8 or 9 frogs of each species, you're sure to get at least one, and probably two breeding pairs!

Thanks for all the replies, I guess that settles it, I was already leaning towards the separate tanks, but wanted to know for sure.

Some of you have said the Mossy frogs had travelled far but these are all captive bred frogs, and yes these will be breeding colonies. I will be trying my hand at breeding Pacman, Milk Frogs, Mossy frogs, and Red Eyed tree frogs. This is an expansion to our reptile breeding.
