    Default Thunderstorms & frog calls

We are having a huge rainstorm which began sometime in the night with thunder and lightening. My back yard is flooded. This prompted the firebelly toads and the White's tree frog to commence a long chorus of calls. The White's likes to respond to emergency vehicle sirens. Also I waded out to the tortoise pen this morning and moved the redfoots to higher ground. They were in their hides and up to their nostrils in water. Silly things.

When I first brought my Whites Tree Frogs home from the pet store they used to croak every time someone flushed a toilette. Now they are set off by things like the vacuum cleaner, door bells, and opera music.

My Texas toads would always call before, during and after significant rain storms.

All animals of all species can sense outside weather, and will react accordingly. I would make this as natural as possible, to ease their urges. Like if you have foggers I would use that. If you have rainchambers. Poppem in, there. Itll make the frogs happy. Trust me. I use a watering can for my fishtank/turtletank, when it rains I start to use the tank water, replace it, use new water and I slowly make "rain" for atleast 15mins, when its raining. It helps ease their urges. It also induces spawning on some fish. when I do this I then feed my turtles and fish.
    Good luck with your frogs.
