    Smile Aerangis citrata

    Hi everyone,

Must admit, I am starting to fall in love with the Rarer and more Unusual species of the Orchid (Orchidaceae) family. I started off with a species to plant within my Mantella baroni exhibit and found a Malagasy Lemon Orchid (Aerangis citrata) specimen!

It has already grown in the 3-4 weeks that I have had it from this-

Oh, it is going to be so exciting for you to watch it bloom!!! After the stalk finishes, you'll see the buds pop up in this weird looking fashion, and it's gonna feel like an eternity for them to open, but when they do, oh my!!!!!!

I am an orchid fanatic but the cat eats them at home and the temperature varies too much in my office to grow them. I have one in my red eye tank, but no exciting species. I've started setting up a grow out tank, but maybe I'll need to put a couple of nice orchid species in there. I'm afraid of the red eyes ruining a more expensive orchid.

Amy, what you need is an orchid tank. Then you can keep all the spectacular species. I can hook you up with a guy that sells some very sweet ones.

I was thinking that may be a good way to do it. I can just imagine walking into my bedroom with a tank of orchids on the dresser
