She looks very cute and very healthy to me! The brown looks like either camo or the color changes with age.

    Please slow down everybody

welcome to the forum Mike! May we please see pic of your frog and a tank, just because we love pics

Change is colour is perfectly normal for pacman frog, they all do that as they mature.

completely confused what are your temps and humidity, in first post you say 87-88 humidity, then 50.
Pacman frogs are pretty easy to keep, but husbandry gotta be spot on.
check this article Frog Forum - Pacman and Horned Frogs - Ceratophrys - Care and Breeding

Would you like to answer to these questions, so we can go over and point if anything needs to be changed.

    “Trouble in the Frog Enclosure”
The following information will be very helpful if provided when requesting assistance with either your frog or enclosure. To help with your questions, please utilize the below list and post the information in the proper forum area to get advice from FF members that keep the same frog. This will allow for little confusion and a faster more informed response.

    1. Size of enclosure
    2. # of inhabitants - specifically other frogs and size differences
    3. Humidity
    4. Temperature
    5. Water - type - for both misting and soaking dish
    6. Materials used for substrate
    7. Enclosure set up i.e. plants (live or artificial), wood, bark and other materials.
    - How were things prepared prior to being put into the viv.
    8. Main food source
    9. Vitamins and calcium? (how often)
    10. Lighting
    11. What is being used to maintain the temperature of the enclosure
    12. When is the last time he/she ate
    13. Have you found poop lately
    14. A pic would be helpful including frog and enclosure (any including cell phone pic is fine)
    15. Describe frog's symptoms and/or recent physical changes; to include it's ventral/belly area.
    16. How old is the frog
    17. How long have you owned him/her
    18. Is the frog wild caught or captive bred
    19. Frog food- how often and if it is diverse, what other feeders are used as treats
    20. How often the frog is handled
    21. Is the enclosure kept in a high or low traffic area
    22. Describe enclosure maintenance (water changes, cleaning, etc)

    So Misty is eating fine?

Was her color the only issue you had with her?

Everything else looks fine. The diet needs to be a bit more diverse though. Offer her Night Crawlers and Hornworms. Hornworms are a treat food and can be a little pricey.

Your Pacman is a Ceratophrys cranwelli or Chacoan Horned Frog. They change to various shades of tan and brow due to the habitat in which they live. The coconut fiber substrate brings out their natural ability to make use of their chromataphores and blend with the environment. These frogs like most will also change color with mood, climate changes, and stress. Illnesses can bring about odd pale discolorations.

I don't believe you have anything to worry about. It is ok to freak out or over react a little when you notice something different about your frog. This shows that you pay close attension. Many a frog has been saved from certain death from someone who saught help when something seemed off about their frog.

    She looks good.

Hello and welcome to FF! As others have mentioned; it's normal for Chacoan Pacmans to turn from green to brown. Now, after reading through your thread see couple things that should be addressed. A 30-40G tank is way too big for your frog. If fist size (less than 4 in. from snout to vent) a 10G is fine. All the frog needs in there is substrate, water dish, a silk plant or two, and paper covered sides and back.

First the water dish; you should clean that with hot water daily and refill with dechlorinated tap to frogs chin depth, even if it looks clean.

The substrate should be initially mixed with dechlorinated tap until slightly damp and clumps in fist without dripping water out. If fogger has the coco dripping water; you have to correct that because the bog like conditions could cause bacterial issues. Can you please describe your fogger system. Also, what kind of thermometer and hygrometer are you using? Analogs can have large errors; digital are better as long as placed correctly (center of tank back, 2 in. above substrate) and he probe is kept dry. If your fogger is making substrate too wet in order to maintain humidity; it's time to work on that.

My recommendation to help attain and maintain correct parameters (82-84F daytime and 70-80% humidity) is to take screen top and cover whole thing in aluminum foil. Then place light fixtures on top and using a sharpie marker draw their outline on foil. Then use scissors to cut open the holes. The foil will help keep humidity and heat inside the tank. Myself only hand mist twice a day using a 60W Ceramic Heat Emitter (with adjustable dimmer) year round. Too low temps over time will cause chronic permanent kidney and lymph heart damage.

Crickets should be same or smaller than distance between frog's eyes and gut loaded with carrots, lettuce and cherios 24-48 hours prior to feeding frog. The staple food should be not dyed night crawlers (from Walmart or local bait shop). Mice should not be offered more than once a month and be small. A large mammal can rot inside frog before fully digested and kill it. Can also feed recent Dubia molts sized same as crickets. Need to use supplements on a regular schedule, here are a couple samples: http://www.frogforum.net/food-feeder...schedules.html. Hope this helps and good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Ok... Thank u but you just said what every one else said thanks. But foil is one thing I will not use because it burned my frog so no thanks on that one I just got the temp right and the humidity is just right and the othere reason I got a 30 to 40 gal tank is because misty my pacman frog is really active at night and walks around that's why her home is big but thank for ur thoughts

I would normally agree with you Carlos on the tank size, BUT if the frog is eating then it needs to be left alone. Changing it now could actually do more harm than good.
