Welcome. I have no idea what kind of frog that is, but it's so cute.
Hi everyone, I'm not a frog owner but I did find this little guy near my pond today and was wondering if anyone of you could give me an ID....
Welcome. I have no idea what kind of frog that is, but it's so cute.
Thank you Seth
They really are cute! They seem to be breeding in my pond so does that mean I should always have a few once the tadpoles grow up?
Here's a video of them singing...
I was wondering where and what the sound was last night and decided to go out with a flashlight and find out. And this evening I was sitting on my patio and saw one hopping merrily on it's way to the pond![]()
i dunno .. but, he's awful cute!!![]()
I agree with Seth, it is an American gray tree frog. There is another frog, called Copes gray tree frog that is pretty much identical but I dont believe their range is that far north, where you are in Canada. The males are prolific singers and they can change colors dramatically depending on their surroundings. Very nice looking little one you found. If you want more info, read the care article on them, lots of good stuff in there.
Definitely a Gray Tree Frog. If you want to keep them or raise some tadpoles, everything you need to know is here: http://www.frogforum.net/tree-frog-c...ysoscelis.html

Beautiful frog and pictures.
I'm still hoping to find a few before summer is over.
Thank you all very much!
I don't think I will try raising them since I have them in my pond and I may as well say they are minebut instead of an in house tank they live in a big outdoor tank
My daughter used to have a big fatty of a pacman frog many years ago so she did mention that we could bring it indoors but like I said why bring it in when he/she is going to be there always. I know there are several more of these guys cuz I can hear them answering calls all evening.
Here's a couple of shots of their home...

Will the grays lay eggs in that pond with the fish being in there as well? I dont know, but it may be a bad idea for them! On another note, it is a very pretty pond, what a great place to relax!
everything's good, Got what I needed![]()
That is one beautiful pond.
Wow! beautiful pond. Nice place to sit and watch frogs.![]()
thank you
I like it too.
I always wanted frogs in my pond so I will confess, last year when I built the pond my daughter and I went to a man made pond on the mountain and went froggy hunting and we manage to catch two green frogs (Rana clamitans) and at the same time we saw a bunch of tadpoles so we scooped up a few of those too, assuming they were the same type frogs we just caught. Anyways all went well with the green frogs, we were hand feeding them every morning and it's like they knew breakfast was coming and they would wait on the same rock everyday then one morning about 3 weeks later they were gone but not far, I could hear the male in the pond next doorso that was the end of mr. froggy, he's still there cuz I hear him everyday.
So what I'm trying to say is I probably got those tree frogs as tadpoles cuz I never saw more green frogs emerge, instead I ended up with those cute little tree frogs![]()
