Time to get to it. Tonight a few hours after feeding my 4 juvenile Fowlers toads some small dubia roaches, and some pinhead crickets I discovered one that appeared to be choking. My first fear was that I'd made a mistake in sizing their food. Once I determined the little glutton wasn't going to be able to dislodge whatever was in its mouth by itself I went ahead and intervened with a pair of tweezers. Instead of finding a roach as I feared instead what I pulled out was a piece of water crystal, or gel if preferred, that I have no idea how it go into the enclosure. I managed to easily remove it and the little eager eater went back business as usual.

The question I have is this. Can hydrated water crystals/gel be digested, or is it something that could cause an impaction? Further more has anyone else had the same problem happen as I did?
