Mine got darker as they got older. Yours are definitely spring peepers, Eli. In my experience, they started calling around 1 inch. I did have one male that made it to almost 1.25 inches before I heard any peeping from him. He was almost as big as the females!

Well, until the time that they start calling, i will enjoy them. After said time, they will be banished to the dining room. There they can hang and chat with the Leucs, who will also be located there.
Unrelated but i think that Helios is female. A little over 2 inches now and no calling. I think selene MIGHT be a boy. 1 3/4 inches and no calling but throat looks kinda dark. Still too early to tell though

yes, with frogs it is best to pick names that work for both genders OR that are easily changed. LOL.

Im thinking that "one" is male. His throat is always kinda stretched out like he's been trying. No chirping that i can hear though.

Well i would just like to announce that the peepers have a new home. My cousin loves frogs and she has been wanting some for a long time. So at the expo i picked up a 12x12x18 for her and had her set it up the way i told her. I went back yesterday and she had everything she needed. Started her off with 200 crickets and today i took the frogs over. She has always been very responsible and always is on track with everything. I know that the two male peepers will have a good permanent home! Wish them good luck!

So I found this thread and read through it because I just got myself a cute little Peeper. I had bought him XS crickets from Petco but figured out they are a little to big. Does everyone feed their Peeper pinheads?
