New tiny little Pseudacris Crucifers part of the fam :)
Hey guys! A couple months ago, my best friend got some frogs at the local pet shop. They were Pseudacris Crucifers or Spring Peepers. His dad knew about them but his mom did not. Yesterday, his mom discovered them! (How you can hide two frogs for two months is beyond me) anyway to make a long story short she told him to either let them go, give them to someone, or flush em down the toilet. So here i am with two spring peepers that even Selene could gobble up in one bite. I cant get good clear pics because they are skittish. But believe me when i tell you...they are small. Don't know genders and my friend never named them so for now they are Spring Peeper numero uno y Spring Peeper numero dos.

Flush them down the toilet... really that was on option given..... flush them down the toiler.....
Glad your friend thought of you before the septic system. I can tell you (as a parent myself) we make some pretty bonehead comments while laying down the law sometimes lol.
They are cute, I know they will be well cared for. Looks like you have another tank build to do!

I love spring peepers! They should relax over time since you got them so bitty. Cute little fellas.

Ugh yeah another build! For now they are in a quarantine tank even though my friend had them for two months. The second one ate a cricket but i havent seen the first one go for it. They are teeny crickets. The smallest i could find. I had to duct tape some of the ventilation because within five minutes there were pinheads all over the place. I hope the fruit fly culture comes soon. Even with the pinheads they still have their hands full

I used fruit flies with my babies. A 20 high should be more than sufficient. The do like their terrestrial space a bit more than the arboreal space. I had one that lived under the water bowl and only came out to eat. The rest explored a lot more, loved broader leafed focus plants and the big bromeliad I had. Warning though, if you have males, they are LOUD. Louder than anything I've owned. They are also escape artists, had to be very careful opening and closing the tank.

Oh believe i can handle loud. I used to live in Puerto Rico. Spring Peepers whisper compared to Coquis. And those frogs like to climb in your gutters and roof shingles where you cant get to them. A cool thing about them though is that one part of their call is to warn off males but the other half attracts females

How big are they? It took my males quite a while to start chirping.

"One" is about 3/4 of an inch. "Two" is a bit bigger. Maybe an inch. I will try and see exactly how big when i get home

yours are def Spring peepers. they do have markings just not as dark yet.
