Green tree frog sometimes making weird loud screaming noise. The frog seems find but it just makes this noise and it's very loud please help.
Is he croaking/calling?
Hello and welcome to FF! Male frogs call so... it's a boy frog! Do you have an American Green Tree Frog or a White's (AKA Dumpy Frog or Green Tree Frog)?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
It almost sounds like its barking but in frog sound
Can you please post pics of the frog? Sure it's a green tree frog?
Could it be a barking tree frog? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EdkZTPVlRIU

Under what circumstances is it making this noise? How long does this noise last? How old is the frog? How long is it from nose to rear end? Any chance at a sound recording?
Some species of frog will make a 'release call' when handled. Some juvenile males attempt to call but sound 'off', so I'm wondering if yours is young.
I think its just croaking. 5-10 seconds sounds about right for a young one

That's definitely an American green tree frog. Don't worry about the noise, it's just calling. I know because mine makes the same noise, and it does sound a lot like barking, lol. I can hear it from one story below, so they do tend to be pretty loud. That means its a male, too, like Carlos said.![]()
