I have had my Albino Red Eye Tree Frog for exactly one week. He's about an inch long. He's been in a one gallon quarantine tank before I put him in with my adult Red Eyed Tree Frog. The tank simply has a small Pothos and water bowl and moss on the floor. He's been doing great, very active and eating. Then this morning I turned on the lights and I noticed him sitting at the bottom of the tank in the moss. He was cupped in like they do when they sleep. I was a little disturbed by seeing him at the bottom so I picked him up and put him on a leaf. He moved around to a couple of different leaves. I turned the lights off so he could feel more comfortable and find a good spot to go back to sleep. Then he started heading back to the bottom of the tank. He doesn't look too thin or anything and he is moving around but he's been sleeping on the leaves up until now and that scares me. What should I do? I've never seen a healthy, happy tree frog sleep on anything but leaves before. The temp and humidity are good. I'm not new to tree frogs as I have 8 of them in our household. Two of which we've had for almost two years now, 4 smaller ones for about three month or four months and then a xanthic for two and a half weeks and now this one for about a week. I believe them all to be captive bred. And I've never had a problem with any of them. Ever. I've actually considered them easy pets to care fore as long as their conditions are met. But, I've never seen any of them sleep at the bottom of the tank. I don't want to over react but I also don't just wait and hope he's okay. Any suggestions?
Whats the humidity?
Fluctuates between 75 and 90 percent
Ok take it to a vet and have it checked out. Also have it dewormed. I would also make sure it is getting some UVB as well. I am not sure of whats going on, but that's where I would start.
