Growing frogs with my 5 year old. They were collected from an abandoned in-ground pool near a river/river flats in Western Michigan. I think we are dealing with a couple different species as they apper different and are changing at different rates. We have had them since July 4th, three of the five have had rear legs for a few weeks, just within the last week we have noticed front legs starting in those three, and just yesterday one came out of the water and his tail is already nothing but a nub! Between last night and this morning the other two are coming out of the water. One of the other two has rear legs within the last couple days, and maybe front starting??, but the fifth has nothing and is much larger than all the others. We have been feeding them boiled romaine lettuce, and will be going today to get fruit flies and crickets. This has been a lot of fun and a great experience for my daughter, but now we are hoping to find out what species we grew! We were assuming they were all just regular bullfrogs when we got them! Thanks!!

Third froglet
they all look like Gray tree frogs to me. and if so, you need to get them onto dry land. don't keep them in water once the tail is resorbed or they can drown. they still need misting and a bowl for water, but they are not a frog that lives in water.

2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
Thank you! I will have to get a second habitat since there are two that are still tadpoles. Will try to get some better pic of those to post, I think they may be bullfrogs. We intend on releasing them all back into the wild once they are all frog, however bu daughter is begging to keep one or two! lol
If you're going to release them, do it sooner rather than later so they learn to hunt on their own

Pics of the two that are still tadpoles, same species or different?
The one that is about the size as the ones that have already changed, and has small back legs (just got them this week)
The one that is considerable bigger than the others, with no legs yet
Those look consistent with Gray Treefrog tadpoles. Even from the same batch of eggs they can get to land a few weeks apart.
Here are some tadpole ID links. Take a look at eye terminology from the 'tutorial' link below, then head to the 'small chart of common tads'. Lateral vs dorsal eyes is a quick way to rule out bullfrog and add confidence these are also Treefrogs.
A complex tadpole key: USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center "Tadpoles of the United States and Canada: A Tutorial and Key"
The tutorial for the above key (explains the anatomy bits): North American Tadpoles
A small chart of common tads: Tadpole Identification Table
The SEARMIT tadpole guide: http://fl.biology.usgs.gov/armi/Guid...dpoleGuide.pdf
at that size, i highly doubt they are bullfrogs. besides the fact that bullfrogs don't climb. yours are on the side of the enclosure. they look like Gray Treefrogs to me. i would read the care sheet and see the photos in it.
