You could do a little social experiment. Try moving the pottery a few feet away every day. If they don't leave it then it means they made a home there and recognizes it as an official safe home. If they do leave it and return to your patio and never come back to the pottery then it means that your patio is their hunting ground and they're interested to stay in the patio more

Thank you both for your responses , I believe the larger of the two frogs has been the same frog for the past 3 yrs and the second one showed up this past spring. They both hide behind the pottery sundial that is hanging on the wall. It would be too hard to keep moving the sundial, as it's nailed on a stucco wall. I think that I will just move it into the garden area, should be lots of yummy bugs for them to eat and hopefully keep them happy enough so they wont want to come into the patio area again. There really is nothing to eat in the patio, they leaving this hiding place every evening to venture out to the back yard to eat, I am hoping that they will reestablish themselves in their new location.
