I need help with my African Dwarf frog, he currently eats Retromin frog sinking pellets but my vet said to provide him with variety in his diet. She recommended brine shrimp or bloodworms. What do you feed you dwarf frog? Thanks!
Hello and welcome to FF Lauren! Do not give freeze dried foods to your frog. You can give thawed out frozen bloodworms, recommend cubes since some persons are allergic to them and cubes require less handling than cheaper slats. Can also give live Blackworms available at some pet shops.
IRT brine shrimp; those are pretty much like crickets and need to be alive and gut loaded to be of much nutrition. Myself would only offer as treats. There are other frozen foods you can try like Daphnia that are good too.
I've deleted your double post to avoid confusion. In the future, can also ask other questions in this section: Aquatic Clawed Frogs. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
My vet said something high in calcium, what exactly would that be?
Hi Lauren:
The food that Carlos recommended in his post will meet all the dietary requirements for your frogs, including the proper calcium levels.
