Red-eyed tree frog, Hector, shares a nice shedding. This always amazes me. Nothing like a nice exfoliating .

Wow that was a pretty epic shed! I see ours shed all the time, but only that visible once. That was very cool

Thanks, Paul! I was surprised he let me just stand there and tape and with the lights on. It was a good catch.

That was an amazing shot! Also, that plant is awesome, what kind is it and how big do they get?

It is pretty fascinating. I remember the first time I saw one of mine shedding. I thought he was choking. I learned quickly.

The pink tinged plant is an Agalonema, also called a Chinese evergreen. Depending on the tank and planting or potting conditions, amount of full spectrum lighting, soil quality, watering and age of the plant, they can get pretty big. This plant cutting is 3 yrs old. I have plants I call grow-outs which I allow to grow and mature before using them in my tanks. A little TLC and some great lighting work well to get them growing. I use Neptune organic fish emulsion and seaweed fertilizer only while the plants are in quarantine. It gives them a great start. I feed them about once a month. The last plant feeding is 6 weeks before I use them in any vivarium. The plants are rinsed, 10% bleach dipped for about 15 minutes or more, heavily dechlorinated (with concentrated dechlorinator), rerinsed and then repotted in ABG mix with springtails. Then I wait again a couple more weeks. This allows the plants to adjust to the stress. You may lose a few leaves. Then it will bounce right back.
