Hello. I love these guys. They are a very cute species. They get around 2.5"-3.5" with females larger than males. These are HUGE burrowers so be sure to provide plenty of soil. It does look like he has ticks. Can you confirm? A quarantine process may be needed before placing them on soil. This way they wont lay eggs.

I just checked the frog in the vivarium and there is nothing on it now.
Assume it soil or piece of wood.

Recommend don't place frog in any surfaces other than damp unprinted paper towel or it's substrate. Frogs belly's are very absorbent and frog can get sick from chemicals in any surface.
