This is a request for anyone with experience breeding Mantella, I have 5 Mantella Ebenaui. When I purchased them my intent was to establish a small breeding colony to hopefully one day have a strong breeding group in the USA. Information on the Mantella Species is lacking to say the least on the internet, and information on breeding them in captivity is even harder to come across.
I do not know the age of my Mantella. They were purchased from LLL Reptile in late February 2014 originally miss identified as M. Betsileo. I am also not 100% certain on sexes for my group yet. Any help with this would also be appreciated.
Please let me know if you have had success breeding Mantella in captivity and what setup and conditions were used to pre mote breeding.
Thank you
Paul

Joshua will probably have answer to question. This guide might be of some help: http://www.amphibian.co.uk/mantella.html#Introduction. Also; have read some Mantellas require a conditioning that includes simulating a drier period with falling water levels followed by a wetter period with a "flood."
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Care sheet is on the way don't worry!! :P
I got a sneak peak at it the other day
Josh, so my thinking is I am going to start to cycle them on Nov 1 and put them through a winter cycle until Feb 1 (3 months) towards the middle of Jan I will start bringing them out of it and into a wet season and see what happens.
Again I don't know their sexes yet, but I am sure once the wet season hit and the calling starts I will know more lol. If they are to young than I wont do it again until Nov 2015.
I will have had them a year around Feb.
