I've done fairly well going in and out of the petstore the last few months, but I broke down (and got permission! Woot woot) today, so here are my new additions, as of yet un-named. I got a deal on the two skinnies, and they are in separate quarters in order to fatten them up a bit.
Nice. I almost got some today also lol.
All the talk about them in other threads made me do it!! Lol-that's my story and I am sticking to it. Anyway, the person who sold them to me thinks the chubby one is a girl, but I can't confirm as of yet. The two little ones will have to remain to be seen. I am hoping for at least one more male in the mix, just because I like their calling.
They sound l ike a monkey to me. I kinda like that. But its not an annoying monkey sound. just a monkey sound. Kinda like pleasant. Id ont know Iam weird I guess. XD Well anywho, those toads are awefully skinny! Watch out for that. Skinny toads=illness. I would seriously take em to the vet before anytihng to make sure they are fine. But other than t hat they have anice color to them. I would feed them fatty foods if possible. Or just try gutloading the crickets with some fatty foods. Sprinkle the crickets with vitamin and calcium powder every time you feed them. For a few weeks. Untill they get back to a chubby state. Well thats my own personal opinion.
Thanks, Kevin, and I will. These guys are nothing compared to a couple of really skinny ones I had, that the petstore was certain were going to die. However, they are alive, kicking, singing and probably a little too well fed. These guys will fatten up in no time, I am sure. Still need to pick out names, though.
How about Cheech and Chong?)
Milo and Otis? Kit and Kabootle?) ok, I'll stop now......
Woohoo more fbt's. Like everyone was saying they will fatten up in no time. Love the pics hunnyas for names how about fred, basil n tilly
Congrats on your new additions
They are so cute
Thanks everyone. The two smaller ones each ate 3 crickets last night. Tonight they are getting some mealworms as well, dusted and full of some weight building goodness. The big one was first in the feeding dish this morning, so no problems adjusting there.
As for names, I have a list-Kit and Basil are on it-and hopefully later today I will make final decisions.
Nice pickups!
Like how they all look different from each other.
Congratulations on your new additions. Good luck with them.
Thank you. The really skinny one is remarkable active, so I am pretty confident he/she will be fine. The marks and colouring on all three are really unique. Got called in to work today, so still haven't made a final decision on the names yet....
Congrats. How about basil and tomato? Or pepperoni and sausage? Or bacon and pineapple? God, I would love to have a pizza right now for some reason,![]()
Oh, I just came up with a good one. How about Hev and Lee?
aw- beautiful little guys! i have an extra terrarium and keep trying to think of excuses to give my fiance that it needs to be filled with another froggiei am not very persuasive though...
I am really bad at having an empty aquarium around-I have a burning need to fill it with something. Luckily, pretty much everything is in use right now-only a ten gallon is empty but it is sitting ready for some new additions I hope to get soon from Paul.
So, the new additions have been named: Basil (definitely a boy and the dark one of the two skinnies); Fennel (the real skinny one and the origin of Basil's love hugs) and Caraway (the heavy set one I am pretty sure is a girl but not 100% positive yet).
I'm not crazy about Fire-bellied Toads, but I'll say one thing for them - they're always doing something.

Yes, the males can be quite....affectionate. With everything. Never a dull moment in the toad pool.
